Response to COVID-19

As COVID-19 continues to be a concern in Mecosta county, the OBK Board of Directors has made the following temporary changes in operations:
  • We are allowing minimal new guests into the shelter after a COVID questionnaire, temperature and symptom check is complete.
  • We will continue to limit our capacity to ensure social distancing as much as physically possible.
  • We are still offering three meals a day and assisting guests with their search for more permanent housing.
  • We continue to partner with Mid-Michigan Community Action Agency who is working to rapidly secure housing for many of our guests.
  • Staff and guests continue to follow rigid cleaning and sanitizing procedures.
  • All staff and guests are required to wear a mask and social distance as much as physically possible.
  • Daily temperature checks and symptoms are documented
OBK Board of Directors and staff continue to work closely with the local Health Department to determine the safest time to lift the quarantine restrictions.
If you have questions or would like further clarification regarding these changes in our operations, please feel free to reach out by calling 231-629-8033 or email office@obkshelter.org.
